Situated on the New England Highway  between Muswellbrook and Scone in the Hunter Valley. Aberdeen’s slogan ‘Aberdeen on the Hunter’ lays claim to the beauty of the Hunter River as is winds it way through this pretty little township.

Follow the bronze plaques along the town and take in the sites and history of Aberdeen. Each story board tells you little more about the origins and times past in Aberdeen.

The major dam on the Hunter River about 10 km upstream from Aberdeen provides a great playground for picnicing, boating, fishing, hiking
